The Influence of the ‘Tomos Narrative’ as a Part of the Ukrainian National and Strategic Narrative

One of the most prominent parts 2019 Ukrainian presidential election was mediatized topic achieving church independence, and its symbol, tomos document received from Ecumenical Patriarch in January 2019. This process a part incumbent president Petro Poroshenko’s electoral campaign. Narrative analysis this showed that it had structure similar to classic Hollywood plots. It is unlike other media narratives present information space. We prove major influence on audience: attention Tomos found be closely correlated Google search data associated with ‘tomos’ term support for Poroshenko. However, narrative`s audience limited patriotic electorate, thus Poroshenko did not win election. Nevertheless, story became so influential can considered national strategic narratives.
